Book Wrap Up- July 2013

Aloha everyone!
July wasn't a big reading month in all honesty, I just broke up from school and just wanted to relax and spend more time with my family and boyfriend. But I managed to read 3 books this month.
Those books are:

- The Sacrifice by Charlie Higson

- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

- Boys Don't Cry by Malorie Blackman

I enjoyed them, some more than others.

I'm currently reading Cross My Heart & Hope To Spy by Ally Carter, which is the second book in the Gallagher Girls Series. I'm on page 58, but I hope to read more later on in the day.

Bye guys.

Unread Books

I decided to write down some things about unread books I have, because I saw a video by one of my favourite YouTubers, MercysBookishMusings

I own about 43 unread books and about 41 read books. Making a total of 84 books, which sounds about right. This has put me off buying books, and I'm going to try and stop buying books in big amounts. I may occasionally buy a book, but not very often, unless it's a copy of a book I have read but do not own. I may get books for my birthday and christmas, but overall, I'll barely get any books.

Why do I have over 40 books that I haven't read? Well, this is because of many reasons. One reason is because there are always new books I want to try out and read, so I buy those and then read them, and end up pushing older books further back, which is a shame. I don't know why I've done this, it's just how things go. An annoying thing is I own a lot of books that are the first book in a series, so I can't really continue reading a series properly, because it would mean that I need to buy more books.

How do I plan on getting through all of my books? Simple, I barely buy any new books, I read stand-alone books first and then go onto series that I own almost all of, and then I start new series. Some bigger series I may not read for a very long time, because I don't like the size of them at the moment, but all books will get read eventually, or at least attempted to be read, and possibly put into my abandoned bookshelf on goodreads and then the book will be given to charity. I have already done that with one series, Twilight, and it's something I will continue to do.

Lately I've had a look at some books, and I decided to get rid of a few that I knew I'd never read. I never sell books, I donate them to charity. I'd rather help out a charity than get sell books to pocket the money myself, and knowing me, I'd most likely spend it on either books or sweets anyway. Silly me!

Charles Dickens- My Favourite Author

My all-time favourite author is Charles Dickens.
I think everyone knows who Charles Dickens is, but for those who don't know, allow me to give you some information.

Name: Charles John Huffam Dickens
Date of Birth: 7th February 1812
Date of Death: 9th June 1870 (Aged 85)
Place of Birth: Hampshire, England
Place of Death: Kent, England
Occupation: Writer
Charles Dickens wrote over a dozen novels and many plays and short stories. A few you may be most familiar with are Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and David Copperfield.
Of course there are many more, but those are just some of the ones you may know the best.
There is a place in Kent called Dickens World. I have been there, before it got changed round, and it was amazing. The boat ride was brilliant and it was amazing learning about characters and more about the genius writer himself.

I like classics, and Charles Dickens just has that special writing style that I love. I'm not really sure how to explain it but it is amazing.

I have no idea what else to say. I guess just read some of his books for yourself and you'll most likely see why he's my favourite author.

Game Review- Zwinky

Note: this post has been edited slightly on the 14th of November 2013

Hey guys, I decided to post something different today. Today I'm posting about something I love to go on, Zwinky.

Allow me to explain what zwinky is, to those who may be unsure. It's an online social game where you have an avatar and a room and you can make the avatar look nice and have a nice room and make friends. It's got little mini-games so you can make money, and you spend that on clothes and stuff for your room. It's really fun and interesting.

Below I've included multiple images, to help you look around at zwinky.

The images are: Of the area, my room and my zwinky.

I've not been told to promote zwinky, I'm just sharing my opinion and I really do like this social game website. And I hope you do as well!

Review: This wasn't originally a review but I decided to add a bit on just to change it up a bit (I said at the top that the post has been edited) so here we go! The clothes, hair and accessories are nice, and the free daily item is really cool. The worlds look nice and it's just a fun little social game. Nothing too special but it's enjoyable!

Bye guys!

July 2013 wishlist

Okay, so I have no idea what I'm gonna be able to get this month as I have birthday presents to buy for my friends! But I have a list of 3 things I want to buy myself this month, all books....
This month I'm focusing on buying books from my long list of classics!

1. Price and Prejudice

2. Frankenstein

3. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

That's basically all. Sorry this is short. I am spending money on one of my closest friends to get her a ticket to something to do with cosplay and anime and japan. I honestly can't remember the name of it, but it's something she really really wants, so I want to make her happy and buy it!

Hello Bloglovin!

Hello everyone. I just wanna explain what bloglovin is really.
It's basically a website to follow blogs on all different blog making sites and to keep track of your followers.
This is good because the google one is shutting down, which is a shame, but hey, we can't always have it our way, and bloglovin seems better.

So, why should you join bloglovin?
Well, you should join it so you can still follow and be up to date with all your favourites blogs newest posts! You can also claim your blog so you can help people realise that bloglovin is the way to go! It's also a good way of getting more page views and possibly even followers. So your blog can become more successful and you could talk to more people, and maybe do more things that interest them. It's something I'd love to do.

Theres the website, and an app. I know it's available for iphone, but I'm not sure about android, you may have to look more into that. Bloglovin is simple to use and free. So why not join, keep your followers!
You can import your favourite blogs from google reader too!
Below is a lovely link so you can follow my blog.
