Book Review- Geek Girl (Geek Girl #1)

Name:
Geek Girl

Author: Holly Smale
Genre: Young-Adult, Contemporary
Publication Date: 28th February 2013
Publisher: Harper Collins
Synopsis: "Harriet Manners knows a lot of things. She knows that a cat has 32 muscles in each ear, a 'jiffy' lasts 1/100th of a second, and the average person laughs 15 times a day. What she isn't quite so sure about is why nobody at school seems to like her very much. So when she's slotted by a top model agent, Harriet grabs the chance to reinvent herself. Even if it means stealing her Best Friend's dream incurring the weather of her arch enemy Alexa, and repeatedly humiliating herself in front of the impossibly handsome supermodel Nick. Even if it means lying to the people she loves. As Harriet veers from one couture disaster to the next with the help of her overly enthusiastic father and her uber-geeky stalker, Toby, she begins to realise that the world of fashion doesn't seem to like her any more than the real world did. And as gee old life starts to fall apart, the question is: will Harriet be able to transform herself before she ruins everything?"

Review:
This book was very funny. So, we go on this adventure with Harriet Manners and her family and best friends and how she deals with being a geek. When she's spotted by a model agency, her life changes. You also seem to learn a couple of facts in this book too, which is nice. This book is hilarious! And this is Holly Smale's debut novel! It's fantastic! Ooh, and the book is set in the UK, which is something I liked as I am from the UK. The writing style is just lovely in this book, it's comical and easy to read. I also can't wait to get my hands on book 2, and I can't wait for book 3! I highly recommend this book
